Conservation Conversations with the Blackwarrior Riverkeeper

Writer's picture: Liz Lane GalleryLiz Lane Gallery

Recently Liz had the privilege of speaking with Charles Scribner, director of the Blackwarrior Riverkeeper on IG live, listen to our talk here.

We talked local biodiversity, our fresh water sources, and how to get involved in clean up efforts to preserve our waterways.

The Riverkeeper serves central Alabama waterways, maintaining the integrity of the Blackwarrior which is a primarily source for residential water for the surrounding area.

Volunteer clean up days are a great way to get involved on the local level to preserve the water in our homes and is home to some of the largest biodiversity in our country.

Our water ways suffer from a variety of pollution with litter being a major contributor.
